InspirationDC recently informed me about an amazing website called shoppingnotes.com. I have been overwhelmed recently with bargain email alerts such as Shopittome, Gilt, and Rue Lala, but this site is unique. When you see an a regular priced item, you enter the URL into shoppingnotes and when the item goes on sale it sends an email alert. I often web browse, hope it goes on sale, and then forget about the item (which is probably a good thing), but this way I don't miss the sale before all the small sizes are gone! Happy shopping.

After spotting a girl modeling these fabulous flats, I immediately looked them up on JCrew's website, but was disturbed by the $225 pricetag.

Thankfully, InspirationDC recently announced a way to get the same look with the shoes you already have. We're all familiar with the painful clip on earrings, well meet their friendlier cousin, clip on flowers! For $22 you can create the same look and still have money left over to wear your shoes to a nice dinner.

Bohemian Summer

If I could bring one thing back from Texas (besides warm winters), it'd be the laid-back, bohemian style. Anything goes in Austin, Texas--home of the original Wholefoods, the University of Texas, Austin City Limits, and South by Southwest. Since your hair and make up melt the minute you walk outside, you quickly learn that less is more. However, laid-back-style is not synonymous with lack-of-style.

Since D.C.'s professional and often up-tight atmosphere makes it difficult to near impossible todress like this, it is often a aspect of my personality and style that remains unseen. Nevertheless, nothing makes me happier than oversized aviators, soft leather bags, and gold bangles.

I love Dupont because it exemplifies the artistic style this former-Austinite misses so dearly. But I also love it for the fabulous and inexpensive Secondi, a trendy consignment shop, filled with random, designer pieces at a price even a hill staffer can afford.
